Following campaigns from the Local Lib Dems, there is a new play area open on the area formally occupied by the Mill Wheel Pub.  The play area project, partly funded by Lib Dem County Councillor Richard Giddings’ empowerment fund has proven popular amongst local children and has been welcomed by many residents of the area.  Lib Dem representative for  Brookside Mike Fuller commented “the new play area has been a great asset for this area and local children of the area can be seen to be enjoying the new equipment – surely thats a massive win for the area”.
